Handing in my notice.... bricking it!

Sorry posting for traffic and a hand hold!

I'm handing my notice in at work today and I am so nervous. I feel like I am letting them down. They have been good to me and I do like my job but I have been offered a really good opportunity, better pay and benefits so would be stupid not to take it.

I wasn't looking for a job, they contacted me! Feeling very guilty right now.

Keep telling myself it will all be okay, they aren't going to be cross, they will understand.

Don't know why I'm writing this thread really, just need some perspective!

Well done! Good luck with the new job - how fabulous to be headhunted. 🌹

Well done on your new job and thanks for letting us all know how it went.

Wallywobbles · 24/05/2022 20:39

I've just done it. I've gone from working for 6 HE schools to taking a full time role and much better pay and conditions. Plus it's the role I've retrained to do.

The ones who paid the worst were really pissed off. The ones that pay well all said congratulations!

How did it go OP? I'm hoping to be in the same position by the end of this week & I'm dreading it

@Maybebabyno2 well done! Congratulations on your new job. I wish you every success in your new role.

Personally, I was a bit disappointed. They were kind, but I had hoped for a counter offer.
I have shown a hugh amount of flexibility and loyalty to benefit the company, but the comments on this thread have helped me come to terms with it.
I am going to throw all my energy into fully training my replacement and then close that chapter of my life.
