Did you buy more than 1 and they just stuck the label on 1 of them? Otherwise looks like they didn't make sure the scale was set to 0 first.

wantmorenow · 19/05/2022 20:33

Oh FFS.

Just got my lazy arse into putting away the non-chilled other pile of food (that I just tipped into the corner of hall way).

There's second huge courgette amongst the tin foil, dishwasher tablets and other such shite.

Guess I ordered 2, but because they're not bagged the label only got stuck on one. All is well after all, except with my menopausal memory.

Thank god I didn't complain or tell anyone about my courgette woes except the whole of MN

@user1471457751 you have sleuth like super powers. You are wasted on courgette matters.

This is like the shittest The Archers storyline ever Grin

whataloadabullocks · 19/05/2022 20:40

Battered and deep fried is the only way to eat courgette!

bigbluebus · 19/05/2022 20:50

Just checked my Lidl receipt. The 2 courgettes I bought weighed 0.598kg and cost £1.19

Who pays for courgettes? If you like them, and have any space for a big planter, grow your own! You'll have so many that you'll be giving them away.

And then throw them back in the sea, they are foul things

The idiots that live in flats.

Comedycook · 19/05/2022 21:15

It's expensive. Leeks are expensive too I have noticed. It's why I am very sceptical when people say being vegetarian is cheaper.

If you make a veggie lasagna with an aubergine, a courgette and a pepper...those three ingredients alone would cost you over £2. You may as well buy beef mince

orwellwasright · 19/05/2022 21:19

Yabu for calling a courgette unexciting. It is literally shaped like a penis and one weighing 0.62 kg is going to be a very exciting one indeed.

Indicatrice · 19/05/2022 21:19

YANBU, I buy courgettes from Asda and that instantly looked expensive at £1.24 for a medium courgette.

BrutusMcDogface · 19/05/2022 21:26

“Courgette Fucker”!

🙊 🤣🤣🤣

wantmorenow · 19/05/2022 21:30

@JesusInTheCabbageVan the Archers script just took an unexpected turn. 😱😇

Will check on my courgettes once i actually plant them, and if they withstand my novice allotment care -to ensure I harvest them before they get too big and marrow-like. Thanks for tip.

I can’t be the only one that is turning parts of this dirty right?

Angelbaby1985 · 19/05/2022 22:09

i notice it here as alot of my animals eat courgettes so nearly 2 for 2 small ones is about a days worth

thecurtainsofdestiny · 19/05/2022 22:18

I got 4 free courgettes from Olio recently.

VestaTilley · 19/05/2022 22:46

It’ll be imported from abroad- hence the price. British season for courgettes is June/July until the first frosts. That’s why it’s expensive.

Buy a broccoli instead.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 19/05/2022 22:51

I like courgette.

knowinglesseveryday · 19/05/2022 22:57

A rip off. YANBU
