Annoyed about repeated smear test?

Twice I’ve had to go into hospital for a biopsy after my smear results. It’s a horrible experience. I went last year and got the letter to confirm everything was ok and I wouldn’t need to attend for 3 years.

Now just a year later they are sending more letters to say I need to book in for my smear test - exactly what they did before after the hospital results came back fine the first time.

I can’t keep having a smear tests every year to just keep going to hospital, I feel so upset that they think this is ok.

Personally I'd go yearly to be safe.

I've had cervical cancer and now can't have smear tests, as due to the radiation damage, they will always come back dodgy.

So now I'm symptom led. I'm still HPV positive as I went for a smear last year at my doctors request - before I realised I shouldn't go for them anymore.

So last time I had cancer I had no symptoms. Now I can't even get a smear to check. I wish I could go yearly even for a colposcopy
