To wonder who left this note on my car and why

Just trivial really but I’m actually quite annoyed by it. I couldn’t get parked on my road last night so I parked on the street round the corner. I was parked perfectly fine, not blocking any one.

This morning I had a note that said ‘if you decide to park on a road that is not yours again, next try try and have some respect and don’t take up two spaces’. I did not take up two spaces. If I was any further forward I would be blocking a drive way and if I was any further back blocking a junction. Where I parked there was just enough room for my car. Aibu to think why would someone leave this and that it must be someone who knows I live on the other road?

Don your hard hat. I've given you fair notice.

I'd park there again, again and again.

I read this in the voice of Commodus from Gladiator Grin

One of those moments in life where you just push it away op.not worth your energy, totally UR.
Really though if like you to leave a really clever remarked note on your windscreen and park there again.😁

"if I was any further back blocking a junction"

This might be the issue. According to the Highway Code, you must not park within 10 meters of a junction, unless it's an authorised parking space.

Nothing to do whatsoever with parking supposedly too close to a junction.

The issue is some people become extremely territorial when it comes to parking outside their house. They think they own the road; they do not and become very anxious when someone else parks there. To my mind its an illness borne out of anxiety and having nothing else to think about.

Tis a pickle when it's parking with people

harriethoyle · 15/05/2022 16:59

@Cloudnine1 someone did this to me once when I parked further down my own road as opposed to outside my own house. Because I am a child, I drew a massive cock and balls on their note with lipstick, popped it inside my windscreen and stayed parked there for the next 3 days. No more notes were left 😉

I hate pathetic people like this, if they are going to be so precious about parking spaces perhaps they should have bought a house with a driveway to park on. And yes I know the argument of these houses being more expensive but then suck it up and accept you can't afford a house with private parking!

Bin the note and park wherever you like - s/he doesn't own the street!!

TabithaTittlemouse · 15/05/2022 18:00

I am always grateful that we live in a rural area with no annoying parking arguments (apart from the one time that a caravan pitched up in our field!).

Do you drive a stretch limo? Is that why you feel that you only just fit but note writer believes that you were taking up two spaces?

Park there again tonight and leave a note on your car yourself. Tell them I pay road tax so I can park where I like. I didn't park irresponsible, so get a life, use nosy, busybody, cunt.
Hopefully they will read it. X
