Posting for traffic.

Having read a couple of posts this week where the OP was seriously unwell and had an awful time in A & E, also reading past threads of massive referral waiting times, GP's being unhelpful and the struggle to even get seen, it's made me wonder about those of us who have opted for private care and how your experiences have differed?

I must admit, seeing so many struggle and have pretty dire outcomes last year I took out vitality healthcare for me and my two daughters but thankfully haven't needed it yet, so can't comment on what the process is like.

That’s true @ElsaPink - when seen privately I always have my consultant’s mobile number. Using insurance was also the only way I could have a hysteroscopy and biopsy under GA because apparently adequate pain relief is too much trouble for the NHS. (I had tried twice without GA and procedure was abandoned because the pain was intolerable - total waste of everyone’s time.

I feel sorry for those who defend the NHS - odds are that they will also suffer at its hands (or watch their relatives suffer) eventually. The UK’s standards and expectations are so absurdly low.

I pay, husband gets his through work. Wouldn't never not have it. You get seen same day, private rooms in hospital, 24/7 video calls to doctors...
