to ask why my oven was vibrating when I woke up?!

Came downstairs after my lovely 8 hour sleep and my oven was vibrating. It was the sound it makes after it has been on, whilst it's cooling down. On my own last last night and the oven was stone cold too, luckily.

Google won't help me!

It's not mice, seriously turn it off at the wall and the noise will stop. It's an electrical thing, for which I've forgotten the explanation.

CrazyRatLover · 13/05/2022 20:12

@LampLighter414 why do you say that??
@girlmom21 that's good, thanks!

Was there a rabbit in there?

AlternativelyWired · 13/05/2022 20:13

Is it excited?

CrazyRatLover · 13/05/2022 20:14

@TheYearOfSmallThings the noise stopped after 10 minutes. Honestly, it was like it had been on for a cooking session but cold!

Rabbit? This is funny now! No it was a dog ha ha!

Faulty programme selector or PCB -my oven had a cooling fan which turned off after about 20 minutes, it then continued running until i switched off the power at the socket and engineer said the part that turns it off was faulty.needed a new oven

WhatIsThisPlease · 13/05/2022 20:38

My oven vibrates sometimes for no reason. If I open the door and waggle the shelves about they stop.

It's next to the fridge and don't know if that has anything to do with it?

Happens all the time and I've never found any evidence of mice 😂

edenhills · 13/05/2022 20:41

Could mice be using it in the night to cook tiny mouse pizzas?

CrazyRatLover · 13/05/2022 21:03

@goingback sorry you needed a new oven. Thing is it did turn off yesterday after doing my food. It wasn't until this morning I heard the noise.
@WhatIsThisPlease I'm glad you've found no fault and it's just random. I wondered if something close was making it vibrate, like maintenence nearby or something? My fridge is next door but one to my oven!
@edenhills possibly ha ha, couldn't smell any tiny pizza though!

@LampLighter414 why do you say that??

Perhaps in carrying out his affair he has knocked the oven or broken it or had a midnight snack

Could your DP be having an affair OP?

Lazul1 · 13/05/2022 21:34

Mine did this last week, it gave me a fright. It’s also a built in oven.

CrazyRatLover · 13/05/2022 22:34

I have no partner!
@Lazul1 really, do you have a rabbit in the oven too?! 😂
Okay, I'm a bit scared now. I know it's been quite windy today, but I'm lying in bed and my closed bedroom door just shook quite violently like a window was open. Got out of bed to check windows and all closed. No draughts from anywhere.

CrazyRatLover · 13/05/2022 22:35

Even in the bad storms it never did that!

OP posts:
theyhavenothingbuttheaudacity · 13/05/2022 23:50

Has anyone yet suggested the op may be on the spectrum?

IstayedForTheFeminism · 13/05/2022 23:57

Mine does this quite often. It's an ancient thing so something faulty is definitely a possibility. Mind you we've had mice in the past so that's also a possibility Confused

CrazyRatLover · 14/05/2022 09:28

@theyhavenothingbuttheaudacity what makes you say that?
@IstayedForTheFeminism don't like the thought of it being faulty, better get it checked!

Do you live above an underground train line that you forgot about?

CrazyRatLover · 14/05/2022 09:42

@Zonder no but live not far from an overground one!

The dh having an affair and being on the spectrum are a couple of ‘go to’ responses to any given unfathomable situation, op!
