Peri-menopause/migraine/sinus

Putting in AIBU for traffic (sorry)
I have been having very strange sensations particularly in my head for the last few months. It started with a sensation of a building of pressure in my head. It feels like my head and down into my chest is being pumped up and then the pressure releases after a few seconds. I dont have it everyday but when it comes it usually lasts a few days then goes for a while. It can be fairly constant throughout the day.
I dont notice it as much during the day when I am busy but during quiet periods I do.
At night I cant sleep with it unless I prop my head up on a second pillow and then it eases off. Combined with the pressure I feel strange in myself. I cant explain what it is but I feel off. My thoughts race, I feel like something is happening in my body (I have panic attacks on occasion and they are not panic attacks). I find it difficult to sleep when I am like this. I often have nights when I am find going to sleep and I wake up like this.
I get a bit teary when it happens because it is such a horrible sensation.

I went to GP a few months ago and he thought it sounded like peri and did two lots of blood to check for hormones but all came back fine. I used to get ocular migraines but havent had them in years though I know migraines come in all forms. I also suffer from sinus headaches.

I need to go back to GP again and presumably he will send me for tests/try medication for one or more potential causes but I am wondering if these symptoms are familiar to anyone.

It is very hard to explain them properly though.
I am keeping a diary to see if there is a pattern.
Thanks :)

The hormone tests for peri are not a good indicator at all and better informed gps do t rely on them.

you might need to find a specialist in menopause to get taken seriously.

oestrogen can affect things like histamine reaction so it could be linked, but at the same time it should be investigated to rule out other causes.

my sinuses have got worse and can make me dizzy, or tending to wobble to one side (very mortifying) but I can mostly keep them in check with a sinus rinse (Neil med) and a steroid spray, and occasional decongestant. I’m not on hrt long enough to know if it will affect them directly though after two weeks they are clearer than they have been for years so I gave my fingers crossed.

Thanks Trivester, my GP did say that about the tests as they are just a snapshot of the moment they were taken. He did mention trialing HRT but I am nervous about starting it at 44. My mam didnt go into menopause until mid 50's so potentially I could be on them many years. He did alleviate my concerns to an extent but none of my symptoms really fit the menopausal symptoms listed on every medical website so I am not even sure its not something else.
