We have nothing planned. I could go out with friends in the day and eves, there has been a lose invite. My DC and H will be happy sitting at home doing nothing. If I suggest/arrange something then they might engage, but:

I want to spend as little money as I can, if possible. We have the cash and could spend it but also trying to save for something special, but the saving/special thing is a long term thing we are planning for.
If we go to any UK coast it is bound to be packed, parking will be impossible unless we get there at stupid o'clock i.e. 8am. I don't want to battle the crowds.
If nice weather then all local pubs will also be crowded with a long wait for lunchtime food, if we could get a table in the rush that is.
Same with all parks etc and my DC/H wont go to a park anyways.

I don't feel like I can take up the friends invite because it feels as though I am saying to H and DC 'I've got plans for the day, enjoy sitting at home (their choice), see you tonight sometime'

Was hoping to go away for a few days but everything is mega bucks and am loathe to spend that extra cash!

I marked her Silver Jubilee by giving birth a month early, won't be doing that this time!

Lots of plans for the long weekend, mostly far from anyone but DH. I have no interest in the Jubilee or the Windsor clan so it will pass us by.

I booked a caravan site a year ago for this. So am slap bang in the middle of a tourist destination and won’t need to take my car anywhere. Can get everywhere by bike, walking or even boat. Just planning walks and cycling really.

StyxBankDweller · 11/05/2022 13:52

As remote as possible.

It's our half-term anyway and we aren't bothered about the Jubilee so nothing out of the ordinary. We've got a foreign hol coming up in August so saving for that.

We’re off to Malaga for 3 nights. I’m saving my annual leave for when we move in (hopefully) a few months time so being able to get away for a few days and not use any is a bonus.

Nothing and avoiding the tv Stranger things for me.

ThereWillBeSnacks · 11/05/2022 14:37

As little as possible. I have no interest in it whatsoever and will hopefully spend the entire 4 days sunning myself in the back garden and ignoring the endless TV coverage.

My husband and I were just talking about this . We are thinking of going to the Epsom Derby on the Friday and will probably book it tonight . I’m not originally from the U.K. and have only been to a race horse once before. I’m a bit nervous about the dress code and I don’t feel like I have much but I’ll figure it out .

I live in London so lots of festivities but Im not sure if we will go into the city to do any . Im going to look local I think . The Epsom derby is around the corner from me .
