Partner annoyed she can’t invest more

Our household outgoings are about 2.5k per month.

my partner puts in 1k and I cover the other 1.5k.

She invests about £500 per month currently of her own money. However tonight she has mentioned that she’d like to start investing more and she’d like to drop her monthly ‘household outgoings’ spend to £700 to enable this.

is this reasonable?

So what makes up the 2.5k costs, if this is a mortgage to which she has no claim in the house for example, or one of you is financing a flash car etc it would impact opinion.

No all costs should be split 50/50 regardless of income if you're not married, why should you subsidise an adult who could walk away with your money tomorrow, you're already overpaying by £250 per month. If you have kids they should also be paid for, including childcare costs 50/50.

If she’s wanting you to work together to reduce outgoings then that’s reasonable. If she wants you to make up her shortfall, that’s not reasonable. At all.
