Fucking Sponsorship Forms

I’m sick of these coming into my house. No one in our family has ever sponsored any child to do anything as they told us when dc1 started preschool that there are too many kids in the family and they can’t be bothered. And that’s perfectly fine, I’m glad they said that because I’d feel awkward asking for money anyway. I’ve always just put names on the form and covered the money myself but one of the dcs has two forms for two different things; one for school and one for a club.

I can’t afford to cover these anymore and really want to write a note on both of them explaining this but feel like I would be wasting my time. I know most people hate these things, has anyone actually done this and does it make a difference?

Just sponsor what you can afford.

What annoys me is when they give the child a list of gifts depending on how much sponsorship money they get. Starting at a sticker for taking part, maybe a slap wristband for over £20 then building up to a signed photo of an athlete if you get over £100.

Just say no

I hate these with a passion. My family don't want to give money for these things or can only afford a little bit. Even if they agree to do it, it's a faff getting the money and I can't afford to pay it myself as got 4 kids, 3 of them in the same school so it's x 3 for everything. I've started just ignoring schools constant requests for money.

Our school does family sponsorship forms so at least it's just one. I sponsor a tenner. I ignore many of the odd requests of £2 to wear your own clothes to be paid via parent pay.

I loathe those types of sponsorship 'competitions'.
