AIBU - Woken up from a daytime sleep

New parents, obviously sleep deprived.

Fell asleep when baby napped at about 11am and DP came home from work in meantime and took the little one. Came in at 3pm shouting at me that I need to wake up. We didn’t have anything planned today, I feel so upset.

AIBU? I’d never wake anyone up from a sleep unless they’d asked but maybe that’s just me or am I being selfish 🥺 TIA xxx

It isn't nice to be woken up abruptly with someone shouting at you but a 4 hour sleep during the day is quite long. How old is the baby?. When you say interrupted daytime sleep is behind you - do you mean when you were pregnant you napped during the day? If you're a very new mum you're in for a massive shock if you think a 4 hour nap in the day is the normal! I barely got 4 hours at night, never mind the day!

Dh has woken me up... ONCE! You clearly needed to catch up on sleep, I hop you feel better for it.

4 hours in the day - you say your DH should have just had a nap, as well.

But your baby can’t possibly have been sleeping for all that time in the day, so how could he have?

He’s 8 weeks so not new new. He hasn’t been sleeping very well during the night, but we’re slowly getting into a routine.

Think everything just caught up with me and I passed out for a bit. It was lovely to have that long on reflection but maybe a bit cheeky judging by the general consensus💕 xxx

4 hour nap seems a nice length, but being woken up is always a shock
