Even if the parents don’t care?

They don’t seem to have given much thought to the children In all this.

I thought it actually sounded quite sweet. They sound happy.

The kids can get a DNA test when they're older.

Many (the majority of?) donor-conceived children are unaware who their biological parents are. They have the right to find out once they are adults - as this family’s children will also be able to do. In the meantime, they only know who their legal and social parents are, which is what’s on the birth certificate.

They never do give much thought to the children, people like this are all about themselves. That's why they are talking about their sex lives and their kids in the newspaper!

Every child deserves to know who their parents are.

How is this the same? Their donor isn't living in their home. Their donor isn't pretending they might not be the donor. Their donor knows they are the donor. It's not a fucked-up genetic Schrödinger cat situation, when you get to open the box at 18.
