Childminder neighbour - parent drop offs?

AIBU? We live in a small close of 4 houses, it’s generally very quiet and we all get on as neighbours. One of the neighbours is a childminder which mostly causes no problems at all - the majority of parents are polite and respectful at drop off/pick up times and park considerately, say hello etc, however there is one who pretty much abandons her car wherever she feels like it, leaves the engine running while she collects her child and generally treats our close like a car park. It’s only 5-10 mins twice a day, morning then again late afternoon, but I find her lack of consideration completely infuriating.

AIBU to tell her to turn her engine off and be a bit more thoughtful? Or is it a very minor (yet annoying!) issue in the bigger scheme of things that I need to just get over?!

I'd mention it to your neighbour, I presume they need a license to run a business from home, if it's disruptive you have every right to complain.

If the parent is annoying you then have a word directly with them. Doesn't sound like sonething I'd be getting upset over though, just from what you've posted.

It the engine is running, the keys are in it?
I’d go out and turn it off.

What does abandoning her car wherever she feels like it actually mean though?

if that’s on the grass of your front garden - no.
if it’s in front of your house - that’s life.

Tell your neighbor.
It’s your neighbor’s client so her responsibility to sort it out. It’s fine that she’s running a business from home but as soon as it causes nuisance to neighbors it’s her job to deal with it.

Leaving a car with the engine running is dangerous. ~If the brake failed it could cause damage and possibly injure or kill someone.

I'd be tempted to remove the keys

Turn the engine off and ask your neighbour to ask her to be more considerate.

Leave a note.... if it carries on.. take the keys and leave a note..
