I had norovirus six weeks ago. It was 48 straight hours of hell and then a pretty quick pickup.
I have it again now, thanks covid-depleted immune system, DS1 and I have been sick for a nearly week. We started Fri/Sat. Absolutely crippling abdominal pains, so bad they make you squirm. Both of us had those and vomiting for two whole days, my poor autistic DS just groaned throughout those, day and night. Then the beige diarrhoea. The fever finally broke on maybe day 4. I'm exhausted and still haven't eaten anything resembling a meal. Neither has DS. And now with DS1 the farting and accidents. Every time the counter ticks forward another 48 hours until they can go back to school. Yes we are recovering thank goodness but it's been a week!
Now we are hoping he will be ok for Monday. That's six whole days off school for one bug.
DH has had to give up work this week (he is self employed) because I just can't deal with being this weak and looking after DS and my poor neglected 3yo who is just tottering around like a ticking time bomb.
It's pure evil. I have never ever had a bug like this.
My NDN have tho, they had it last week. As have a few friends I've spoken to. So I'm wondering if there's a special strain of Noro doing the rounds because if there is, we have it.
