Feeling really stressed -AIBU

Left a job of a few years last week. I’m feeling a bit stressed as I’ve been getting calls/messages from colleagues asking for help with something. Very entry level job no expertise required at all. Lots of other people there they could ask as I was one of many.

I got no recognition either when I left. I just got a nice message said by manager and no card or anything.

i left as I am feeling very stressed and depressed which I shared with everyone. Why are they bothering me when they know how stressed I’ve been?

I’m sat here now stressing about the work situation. I’ve been short with my kids again. I just feel nothing will change. I’ll still be stressed but now with zero income coming in too.

Don't stress about it, ignore them, you don't work there any more! If necessary, don't answer your phone or block their calls.

@IsDaveThere thank you for your response. I think as one day I will work again I’m worried about keeping it good with them for reference purposes.

Do they typically just provide working dates as a reference? Most places will only do this now and it's a very generic letter from hr in which case a polite but firm message will be ok - would you be able to say to your old manager "I'm afraid I can't assist with ongoing work queries - I left to manage my well-being and stress levels, so to receive messages asking for input and advice is preventing me doing this. Your support in ensuring the wider team assist with new staff and historic queries would be appreciated, and I won't respond to work questions moving forward. I hope you are all well and wish you the best. Carole"

If not then there really is no issue in not replying at all but if there is a manager you could be honest with they will need to take it on board.

They aren't paying you so you owe them nothing!
