Sending toddler back to nursery after newborn

How long do people usually wait ?

I feel like I'm just about keeping things together at the moment as my mum is here to help.

I'm worried to send DS1 back, as he gets sick every week. I know this will happen of course. But it all seems like a lot right now, if he were to go and then get sick.
My baby is one week old.

What does everyone else do ?

I didn't stop! He kept up four days a week for the first couple of weeks then dropped to two days a week for the rest of my mat leave.

Toddler hasn't been too bad sickness wise and the baby hasn't been ill above and beyond a normal cough/cold in the winter

I sent mine 2 days a week for a break or you literally get nothing done. Sickness was generally OK, baby is breastfed so I tend to get ill but he's OK.

Didn't stop for us it was important our eldest DD kept her normal routine. She continued her 2.5 days a week. Once I'm on no pay we will drop her days but she loves going. We've luckily so far just had 1 bug in 10 weeks

We didn't stop!! However, DS2 was born 1 day into the Christmas break from nursery, so DS1 then had almost 2 weeks off, but with Christmas and NYE in it too.

I couldn't wait to get him back, and he loves it so was excited about going back too. In fact, his free hours came through then so so he actually went 1 day more then too!

Mine has been off for two weeks now. We kept him off as we were constantly getting sick too and didn't want to risk us all being sick for the birth.

I should send him back today !
