Does this sound like Rheumatoid Arthritis?

For a few years now I've been getting increasingly worse pain in what feels like all the bones in my feet from toes to ankles, now I also have issues with my knees randomly seizing up/clicking and pain in the bones of my hands particularly around the base of the thumbs. It's worse when I have my period. My dad suggested it might be arthritis, I've had a google of the symptoms and RA sounds a lot like it. Has this been anyone elses experience?

Pointless trying to get an appointment with a GP these days, I have tried with no luck!

RA doesn’t just affect your joints.
It is a systemic auto immune disease so potentially can affect other organs.

Pain killers won’t help to treat it.

It might not be RA though.
Please change your GP ... be proactive. Wish you all the best.

I managed to get through to the GP surgery this morning at last, a nice GP I've not spoken to before called me back and she was very sympathetic and kind. I've got an appointment booked for the 16th, she said they will take some blood and may send me for x-rays.

Great. Please BRING A LIST OF SYMPTOMS WITH YOU this is your one chance at the gp.
Write on your list in bold letters that you would
like a referral to a rheumatologist and underline it and don’t leave without it. Good luck.

I have the same op.
Initially HRT made all the pain disappear overnight. But it's back.
Am also trying to get to see my Doctor.
Good luck & let us know how you get on!

My dad was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis and Ankylosing spondylitis at the very young age of 21 (he's now 79), he still works part time and plays golf 3 x a week, but has always had pain, stiffness and swelling. The only time he worries is when it affects his neck though. He was on tablets for years along with Diclofenac but in older age developed a heart problem so they took him off everything and all he has now is nurofen. He's had 3 hip replacements and is about to have his 4th. He has pushed himself all of his life to remain active and has managed it.

That's my experience with it, he's had and is having a good life, and is fit and healthy, it hasn't stopped him doing anything at all, so please don't worry about it being life limiting. Fingers crossed they can get to tge bottom of it for you though
