Best simple period tracker?

Not an AIBU as such, but wasn't sure where to ask! Women's health??

Anyway, I've been using Flo for a number of years, but recently I find the app very busy with constant pop ups and offers of their premium service. I don't need daily insights! I've also heard that the owners have been involved in some dodgy dealings with selling user data to Facebook and Google, etc.

I would like a simple period tracker without any bells and whistles. I don't need to tell it how I'm feeling or what my discharge is like. Just record the date, predict the date next month, and probable ovulation as well.

Is there such a thing??

I use Clue. It's good for tracking cycles and you can put symptoms, pain, tiredness etc in.

Although recently it's started saying that every day is a potentially fertile day. I don't know if they're worried about being sued by somebody using the rhythm method based on their data becoming pregnant?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 01/05/2022 16:13

Sorry, I meant to say you can put the extra stuff in but you don't have to.

My calendar on Google

I don't get this?
Why would you upload your monthly period details to an app, especially what's been going on in the US lately.
Will try to find the articles have read and link

I use P tracker. Been using it for years and no complaints.

Me too.

I don’t have periods but I know DD uses Period Diary (P.D.) as she borrowed an old phone once, synched whatever, I got a shit tonne of stuff on my phone and it was there. I did ask her about it at time when I was cleaning all the crap off my phone and she said it was great and I believe a non-paid app also.

You don’t get why someone would want to keep track of their period. In my day (pre computer/phone), we used calendars in our bedrooms with pen. Women have always tracked periods! Given we have moved from the dark ages and now have electronic means this is the way it has gone. Personally, I wouldn’t care if Musk or Trump or Putin or Gates knew when my periods were, so what.

I completely get why someone would want to keep track of their period, think you must have misread my post?!
I was tracking too when I was a teenager /young adult, it would have been with pen and paper though as no such thing as apps or phones!
Was referring to an article I was reading recently where certain American states (abortion laws) did indeed benefit from knowing your cycle and apps. (Which is why I said I would try and find a link

I use the free version of Clue and have been doing so for years

Wallywobbles · 28/05/2022 04:25

I like clue

easyday · 28/05/2022 06:01

Uh, a diary? I used to put a red dot at the start of my period and then flip forward four weeks to note when due next. That helped with planning any activities as I used to be very heavy first couple days. I suppose you could do the same thing on your phone if you don't use a physical diary.

Hesma · 28/05/2022 06:03

I use the Fitbit app. You don’t need to have a Fitbit and you can also record your food and water intake if you want to

PinkSyCo · 28/05/2022 06:09

A diary? 🤷🏻‍♀️

randomsabreuse · 28/05/2022 06:18

My Garmin app has one which is good. Only thing I have to put in is 1st day (and adjust last day of flow until it learns the cycle).

It's nice to know when to have the period kit with me if I'm away for the weekend and track that I'm still going to be not on for important sporting events/holidays so I don't need to delay it.

There's an important movement around sport to be open about cycle timing as there's (finally) some data showing it really affects athletic performance...

letsnotdothat · 28/05/2022 07:16

I just use the health app that comes on all
iphones and also my Fitbit.

JenniferBarkley · 28/05/2022 08:05

I use the free version of clue. I literally just track the first day and it works well for me. When TTC I used ovia but it always agreed with clue about the fertile period (I'm regular so it's not surprising).

MrsToothyBitch · 28/05/2022 09:05

I use the free version of Clue. I mark it on the calendar for cross reference but I'm a lot more in tune with my body now I'm tracking symptoms etc with clue rather than just red penning P. E & P. S on the calendar, with crossings out of guesstimate start dates as I'm not always clockwork.
