To feel sorry for Boris Becker?

I dont know why ,but I just felt a bit sorry for him .I know he has behaved badly and squandered money he was supposed to use towards his creditors .But he just seemed so beaten somehow ,from Wimbledon to Prison .Such a fall from grace . YABU He deserves all he gets. Yanbu Feel sorry for him harsh treatment.

I'm definitely not sympathetic to Becker or most other financial criminals, I just think it's strange that we can't find a meaningful punishment other than locking people up. I guess if you rule out (for obvious reasons) corporal punishment and the kind of brutal enforcement that would be needed to make people work effectively on forced labour then that's all that's left.

Compare him to the jailed post office managers some of whom lost their lives.

The man was renting a house for £22,000 a month for years...why on earth would anyone feel sorry for him?!?

YABU. He's a dodgy, entitled tosser who, played some tennis, shagged someone in a broom cupboard, denied paternity of their child and is a tax evading swindler. Sorry for him? No.

YABU I like Becker, fab player, fab commentator, crap man. Apart from the dubious restaurant sex, he has dubious financial morals. The fan has now been hit & he has to pay the price for his decisions & actions. He'll rise again.

It's a pity that this doesn't apply equally to women, especially a certain 'glamour' model who seems to be able to get away every time.

He'll be moved to an open prison within a couple of weeks, released early on licence. He'll be fine

Boris Becker has been jailed for lying about his funds during bankruptcy and hiding assets.

It seems that the glamour model in question is given free cosmetic surgery holidays by the providers in order for promotion/advertising, or has paid for holidays, gifts, etc by her now ex boyfriend, whose source of income probably bears more need of investigation than hers.

Her other charges are separate to bankruptcy and don't usually result in jail term for the first the few offences of that nature.
