How do you use your holiday allowance each year?

I work via agency so technically I can holiday whenever I want and for however long I want, though I don't get paid holidays (I get it in a small amount above my hourly rate)
I give myself 28 days a year off which seems to be the standard.

My last break was 4 days off in late Feb. Thinking that I'm going to take a 3 day holiday next week. Before Feb I had 3 days off last October and that was it.

Just interested to hear how others work.

I have generous leave due to long service and buy 2 extra weeks - I take half terms, Whit, 2 weeks Easter, summer and Christmas (I also get a lot of TOIL as I work 3 days a week but take meetings all week if needed) so I often have leave left - also like to take a day for my Birthday (half day this year because meetings!)
As I work 3 days I often get Christmas with minimal leave depending on the days - and the office closes so we get an extra day for 'free'.

A week or so at Christmas, couple of days at Easter, couple of weeks in the summer, a week either in October half term or February half term and a few odd days.

No need for me to save up leave for school holidays anymore either - it's great! I've started taking the odd Monday off just to enjoy the long weekend feeling, thinking of moving to a 9 day fortnight when daughter finised college and so less demands on my salary.

I'll have 2 weeks off at some stage in the summer, any longer off and going back to work is so grim.

Pre kids: week in January for skiing, week in June for camping, week in September somewhere Mediterranean. The rest of the time spent on long weekends or just taking a Friday off because I fancied it.

Post kids: week in Feb, week at Easter, 2 days a week over the summer, week in October, few days at Christmas - all for childcare. Maybe the odd Friday off to do a weekend camping.

I get 11 weeks off. I take 4 or 5 in the summer July/August, about 2 at Christmas but that gives me almost 3 weeks then with bank holidays too, a week at Easter, a week at 2 of the three half terms and the rest the odd day here and there.
