To think you don't beep your horn as you arrive?

Neighbours kids visit him every day- lovely as his wife died a few years ago.

As they pull up, they beep their horn 3 times in a long way. BEEEEEP BEEEEEP BEEEEEP

They come at around 7/7.30 each day. They get out of the car and he opens the door and lets them in.

They do this every single night. i feel like the The noise is boring into my brain and it's just as I'm starting to get little one into a bedtime routine. I feel like I'm on edge waiting for it.

He isn't deaf (at first I thought they were maybe beeping to let him know they were here) he isn't slow at walking (he still goes to the gym at 80 😂) so it isn't to give him time to get to the door.

Am I being silly? Like it's only 3 noises, once a day but it's driving me potty. BEEP BEEEEEEEP BEEEEEEEP

DH said to them the other night that the baby was going down and they'll wake him up (in a jokey way) but they've kept doing it.

Can anyone think of a reason why they are doing this? Are you a beeper? I know sometimes people beep if they are picking someone up but they just go in his house.

You can send a cease and desist letter about excessive noise before taking further action but I dont think the horn beeping would be considered excessive.

All you can do is talk to them again, I guess.

Ffs. I can never understand why people carry on doing something silly and unnecessary knowing it annoys other people. Yes it may be something small but that's how neighbour feuds start!

I'm never going to stop using my washing line, closing my car doors in a morning taking the kids to school, or putting my wheelie bin out early before work because it's loud on it's wheels or whatever else we've seen on here that Batshit neighbours have demanded, but being asked to NOT disturb people by doing something that I don't need to do and is not the norm for most people? That's just fucking rude to continue.

Shame there's nothing you can really do. Possibly speaking nicely to the man in question may help? He might not be okay with his family jeopardising his good neighbourly relations?

I think you just need to learn to live with this brief interruption to your day.

Maybe it's rude, maybe it's unnecessary, maybe they are vile and selfish human beings but it is, at worst, a very brief annoyance. Just..let it go. It doesn't need to be a thing. Let it wash over you. Three beeps, done. We'll all be dead soon and you won't have spent any of your life worrying about 5 seconds of daily noise.
