To think this is how they do it

Just seen a picture in Daily Fail of Vogue Williams a few days after giving birth. Looks sensational. Is it the case that these celebs have tummy tucks after giving birth? I just don't get how they snap back like that. What's the secret?

I really doubt people are having tummy tucks in between birthing multiple children.

Some people don’t gain that much weight during pregnancy and so there isn’t much to ‘snap back’ from in the first place.

worraliberty · 25/04/2022 21:22

Of course it's not necessarily the case.

Strong stomach muscles and not being overweight often means you 'snap back' a few days after giving birth.

Maydaysoonenough · 25/04/2022 21:25

It's all that opening and closing of laundry tab boxes!!. Hard exercise that!

PartyPlan · 25/04/2022 21:26

Vogue works out during pregnancy and keeps herself slim in general. She likely didn’t sit on the sofa every night eating chocolate like some of us did (me!).

Mymindisnotmyown · 25/04/2022 21:27

My bump “snapped back” unfortunately the two stone I had put on through eating what I wanted did not.

beastiev · 25/04/2022 21:28

she has a long torso so more space for the bump plus the resources for exercise, treatments etc.

Some is luck, I was like that after my 1st but not my 2nd.

ComtesseDeSpair · 25/04/2022 21:29

My friends who “snapped back” within days were those who were fit and athletic prior to pregnancy and kept up with exercise and toning during. I imagine most celebrities also fall into that bracket.

beastiev · 25/04/2022 21:29

I'm not sure on the "staying slim" thing I put on less weight with no 2 but I had excess fluid & a massive bump vs more weight gain but smaller bump first time.

catwomando · 25/04/2022 21:35

I 'snapped back' after both mine (even the 9 pound second child). Just luck of the draw, eating well, and not being overweight before getting pregnant.

I really hate the insta /celebrity perfect idealised view of the world. It's so unrealistic. Some people 'snap back', some use photoshop , and some don't. Our female bodies are magical incredible things that create life and to bring it all back to a 'how flat is your stomach' is to demean the miracle (I'm not religious but still use the world for growing and birthing a baby) of having a baby.

We literally grow humans so who gloves a shit want your belly looks like afterwards? Fucking media pressure. It's totally shit.

VladmirsPoutine · 25/04/2022 21:36

I don't think even the mist highly paid surgeon in Beverley Hills would dream of doing a lipo following the trauma that is essentially giving birth. But having said that Vogue is not in the average woman's league. She has everything at her disposal to ensure she looks amazing. Even Kate stood outside the hospital following births with wonderfully blow-dried hair and make-up. Made it look like giving birth is no harder than loading the shopping into the Range rover.

BrieAndChilli · 25/04/2022 21:38

I know someone who had a planned Caesarian and a tummy tuck at the same time. Money can buy you a lot of shortcuts!
I also know people who ‘snapped’ back very quickly. Some people are naturally thin and pretty and those type of people are normally the ones that become celebs so stands to reason a higher proportion of celebs don’t have saggy bellies like us mere mortals. Not many wobbly size 16s of us are becoming stars!

helloitsnotmeanymore · 25/04/2022 22:17

I snapped back reasonably in the end, but more like 6 months later after Dc1 😂 I looked really massive for about 8 weeks. I was refused some tablets at the chemist as she said I was visibly pregnant. I said this is the baby here .. I've had it already. Didn't help my Dc was massive and never looked newborn.

DC2 I developed diabetes and despite a low carb diet I put on so much weight just on my stomach. It was very weird as always been pear shaped before.

Fupoffyagrasshole · 25/04/2022 22:20

If you follow her - she was working out pretty much until the day she gave birth - she is super fit.

that would do it surely

gunnersgold · 25/04/2022 22:26

She looks after herself , she is in the gym everyday and works hard . My stomach went down in hours after my dd . You couldn't have a tummy tuck because your insides are all still swollen .

Cazziebo · 25/04/2022 22:29

10lb baby and was in my size 10 jeans two days later. First baby was 7lb 7 and it took me 18 months to "snap back"...

womaniswomaniswoman · 25/04/2022 22:32

I had a tummy tuck and it took at least 3/4 months before the significant swelling had receded.

If she had a tummy tuck she wouldn't look back to her old size for quite some time.

Mummy2Babba · 25/04/2022 23:01

My stomach went back to normal within hours with both of my pregnancies. Currently 8 months pregnant with DC3 and still in size 6 with next to no bump. I think it just depends on your body type and probably genetics and lifestyle factors. Whatever the case it shouldn't be a competition or women shouldn't be made to feel shamed whether they are a size 6 or 16. Our bodies are incredible for carrying a baby, I think having a new little life in your hands is more important than worrying about the changes to your belly

orchidsunrise · 25/04/2022 23:03

I have heard that celebs often book a cs or induction at around 37 weeks because it's the last 3-5 weeks of pregnancy where you're likely to put on the most weight.

Also photoshop/posing in specific ways for photos.

I'm sure she is also physically fit and some people are just lucky (I wasn't one of them)

Don't dwell on it.

To be fair, it's hard to hear the "don't worry about your belly" from people who state that they're a size 6 at 8 months pregnant and snap back immediately 😂 that's not to say you're wrong or that there's anything better or worse about how your body behaves. But it is really hard to deal with body image issues post birth and celebs don't help, one of the main reasons I won't have a third baby is how it makes me feel about my body post natally so you're lucky you don't have that concern. It really is very hard on our mental health.

Moonface123 · 25/04/2022 23:39

I don't follow the celebrity culture, but there are some women whose bodies do naturally just bounce back. Mine did, but that was actually the last thing on my mind having just given birth and seeing to a young baby, l paid zero attention to it, surely there are more pressing concerns than the size of your stomach after childbirth ?
