I may sound overly cynical but I wouldn't put it past BJ to have urged someone / some MPs to cook up something 'controversial' in the press in order to 'change the narrative.' So this is what the put their heads together and came up with.

I don't think it is Mr Johnson putting someone up to it. What I did remember when this was reported was that Paul Verhoeven's latest film (Bernedetta) has just come out and when being reviewed, it was mentioned that he was the director of Basic Instinct. Probably could have put the idea in the Tory MPs mind.

In any case, Angela Rayner is over 40, and Boris Johnson is one of those men who ignores women once they get to that age.
