Settle a debate! Brush before/after breakfast???

I always brush my teeth right when I wake up (before having tea, breakfast, etc.) as my mouth feels grubby.

DH is a strictly after breakfast brusher. Even when we're at a hotel/resort. He'll go back to the room to brush after coming down for breakfast.

Came up as Which? magazine has an article this issue and seems to be indifferent. So really this is just a curiosity question.

YABU - Deffo brush after breakfast!
YANBU - Pre-breakfast brush is a must!

Usually before - 54 and no fillings

I do after as I wake up hungry and if I brush teeth before, my breakfast tastes weird and I can't cope with that. I do leave it for half an hour after though rather than immediately. I also rinse my mouth out when I get up, to get rid of the clagginess.

DH brushes his first thing, but I'd worry about bits of granola in my teeth if I did that.
