Is there any point (covid)

DH has just tested positive for COVID (tonight) The last few nights we’ve slept in the same bed and kissed etc.

is there much point in trying to distance now or should I just accept that I’m going to get it? No DC so it would be possible for us to sleep separately and avoid each other in the house with windows open.

My husband tested positive. We live in a small Victorian terrace with no room to isolate from each other so we slept in same bed, used same bathroom etc. I didn't get it at all.

We distanced (my DH moved to the spare room as soon as I tested positive) and he got it anyway. We've stayed apart, though, because he tested positive several days after me, so we were on different isolation schedules. (We're not in the UK, so that may not be a concern for you).

@NeedWineNow thank you! We’re not in a Victorian house but in a flat so have the same bathroom. Do you think it’s worth trying to separate at this point or is ‘what’s done done’

We don't distance/isolate when someone gets Covid in this house. We don't have a spare bedroom and only have one bathroom so just gave to get on with it. There are 4 of us and we've all had it at separate times, never passed it onto one another oddly!

I'm over it all now, if we get it then we get it although as we don't test, we probably wouldn't know anyway 🤷‍♀️

I wouldn’t bother but that’s me.

ReadyToMoveIt · 22/04/2022 21:03

We didn’t bother, carried on sleeping in the same bed etc. DH didn’t catch it.

AppleKatie · 22/04/2022 21:05

We didn’t bother, I didn’t catch it!

Natalie19821 · 22/04/2022 21:09

I think what freaks me out is my brother was so I’ll with it! But my sister and parents were both completely fine (just like a cold) it’s a strange virus

I tested positive Wednesday, we slept apart for 2 nights then DH tested positive today, I think if he's going to get it there's not much you can do but it's worth a try

idontknowdoi · 22/04/2022 21:12

I wouldn't bother. My brother and toddler niece had it, yet my SIL didn't get it even though they were both at home over Xmas holidays for two weeks. She's got it now, three months later, picked up elsewhere

ProfessorInkling · 22/04/2022 21:14

I tested positive a week ago and DP is still negative, no symptoms, we haven’t isolated from one another.

DontKeepTheFaith · 22/04/2022 21:15

I got COVID, didn’t isolate because small house and both dses at home and DH didn’t get it! I was coughing, sneezing, basically a revolting mess and he continues to be stubbornly negative🤣

Both have had 3 vaccines. Mine longer ago than his because I’m frontline NHS.

TheCanyon · 22/04/2022 21:28

Dd1 got it three weeks ago, she was looking forward to spending the week in her room but our 7yo dts wouldn't stay away from her and got it. No way we're isolating from them so of course me and (immunosuppressed) dh got it. Dd2 won't stay away but hasn't caught it, the only one of us that's not vaxxed too so she's having a great time noising us up 😂

TheCanyon · 22/04/2022 21:29

Meant to say dts temporarily share a room with dd2 too.
