To ask for advice on eczema and chicken pox

Just hoping there's someone here who has been through this already...
My daughter is 4 and has just come out with chicken pox. She has eczema although it's very well controlled at the moment and we very rarely need steroid creams now.
I know that it can be worse for kids with eczema. She seems fine so far, only has about 30 spots and no fever. But I tried virasoothe to help with the itching and it doesn't suit her skin, made it red In the areas that sometimes flare.
We are moisturising with her usual aveeno very regularly.
Is there anything else we can do or need to be aware of?

Bicarbonate of soda was really useful when my son had chicken pox - he also has eczema. He's now a strapping teen - I've googled for you as my memory is a bit sketchy .... here it is:

Chickenpox
The constant itching and irritation caused by chickenpox can feel like torture for many people, especially children. A baking soda bath may provide the relief they need. Adding 1 to 2 cups of baking soda to a lukewarm bath and soaking for up to 20 minutes, three times a day can help provide relief.

Oh, wishing her a speedy recovery by the way.

My 4yo DS currently has chicken pox. I recommend the bicarb of soda bath, I use 1 cup of bicarb in his bath.
My friends also recommended an oat bath (oats in tights/muslin) but we haven't needed to buy oats as the bicarb bath has worked well.
Both bicarb bath and oat bath are also recommended for eczema.
Also get antihistamine like piriton, it helps ease the itching.

I think aveeno also have oat products

Piraton and poxclin (can be a pain to get so call your local super drug and boots first to see if they have any in stock) it's a very non sticky anti itch spray. Oats in a sock in the bath. Mine were fine, didn't make skin any worse.

Thanks everyone. She's ok for now with just piriton but I'm going to add in a bicarb bath tomorrow

Mummys Magic Nappy Care Spray is brilliant on chickenpox, no itch and stops the scar, it works on eczema too it’s not just a nappy spray, I can’t recommend enough, no nasties in it at all only Natural stuff and just spray on no touch, they sleep too xx

I wouldn’t change the moisturiser you use I’d just give piriton as regularly as you can for the next few days. And moisturise often with the aveeno. If it isn’t itchy she won’t scratch it 🤞 x

Pox clin worked for my son much better than virasoothe; he has eczema too

My 4yo has eczema and I’m dreading her getting chicken pox as she hates the feel of any creams. My older 2 wernt keen on poxicillin but I’d probably use it for my 4yo as camomile lotion will probably irritate her.

best advice I got was putting oats in an old sock or tights and bath them as many times as you can throughout the day. I still use this regularly in the bath for my 4yos eczema.

Oats in the bath was a game changer for dd.
