I'm all packed but I fear I've forgotten something that I don't know about as I've never been on a caravan holiday with a 2 year old.... any advice??

Night light!

Swimming aids? Calpol? Extra towels (it can be hard to get stuff to dry), basic food and condiments.

Ear phones for you so you can watch stuff on your iPad when they've gone to end

Safety pins and blankets or similar to pin up over the thin curtains! Or else your 2 year old will be awake extremely early!

milliemermaid · 21/04/2022 18:32

Clothes pegs.

RoyKentsChestHair · 21/04/2022 18:40

Definitely warm bedding. Took my DS to a caravan when he was about 3 one Easter. It was so cold he cried and we ended up having to go home after one night! Hopefully the warm weather this week will continue for your break, but even so, caravans aren’t as well insulated as houses - it’s a bit like camping in some of them! So lots of blankets and maybe hot chocolate before bed etc - Have a great time.

Matilda1981 · 21/04/2022 18:42

I’ve caravanned for the last few years with young children (youngest is now 2), we take a white noise app so they can’t hear outside noise, it’s great, we use one at home too tho.

We don’t take a night light as the caravan is small so it would be too bright! Make sure the caravan has black out blinds and if it hasn’t take some - can use plastic type backlit material and double sided sticky tape - you can get kits from Amazon.

Take plenty of snacks/juice cartons etc - things that don’t need to be in a fridge.

Be prepared for them to not go to bed very early - we went at the weekend with friends and the first night the two and three year old didn’t sleep until half 9 but they didn’t wake up until half 9 so it wasn’t all bad!!
