Or was my DC?

Over the holiday, my DC 10 and friend were playing on a public green in our neighbourhood (made themselves a picnic). There are houses near the green, but there is a pavement between the green and the houses.

An older man came out of his house and told them to leave because it wasn’t their garden and basically just didn’t want them there. They stood up for themselves and said it was a public area and they weren’t doing anything wrong. The man proceeded to mutter at them about calling the police and glare at them from his garden. They felt uncomfortable and left.

I was tempted to go round and ask the man what his issue is, but thought it best to leave it. For the rest of the break I was having a hard time getting DC to play outside the house/off screens because they didn’t want to get in trouble.

Should I go round there and try and talk to him so DC can play in a public space in peace?

And by play I mean chat and do tiktok dances, not kick footballs around or similar.

Or was my DC?

I'd take my whole family there with either a huge blanket and a big spread, or go the whole hog with garden furniture, and have a rally long picnic there. Every day Grin

Is it definitely a public green

We live on an estate and people get really cheesed off with parents sending their kids to play outside other peoples houses.

My next door neighbour is always complaining about 'gangs' hanging out on the grass outside our houses.

They can be noisy, and there is one lot who climb up on top of the bus shelter. But mostly they just sit and chat.

I have a bigger problem with the parents who use it as a car park endangering all the kids walking to school (they mount the kerb and drive across the pavement to do it).

If it's a public green then the man was BU 100%

The man was wrong, but I would avoid him because at best he's a miserable sod.
