To ask if there are others that don't allow a chocolate coma on Easter

This is totally light hearted and each to their own but I wondered if there are any others out there that don't allow their children to gorge on chocolate or if we are the only meanies around.

Lots of my friends make comments about chocolate eggs for breakfast etc but we just don't do that. They get a bit more than normal on the day. Then most of it goes in a box to be had as and when. Usually over the next few weeks we shall work through it.

Anyone else?

I think it depends on the ages of the kids doesn’t it? I mean I wouldn’t be breaking up a 15 year old’s Easter egg and putting some in a bowl like I would for a 2 year old.

I thought an Easter egg for breakfast was the law on Easter Sunday.....

@Hayisforhorse

Yep, we still have Christmas chocolate too
Someone will be along soon to say their teenager still has chic in his box from his first Easter

Choc not chic

My* *sister did a chocolate bar hunt for my 2 kids. Over 40 chocolate bars in total full sized ones! 🤨

i got them a chocolate tree and they each got a few other eggs from family.

ds who is 5 ate no proper food for 2 days as he was just picking at the chocolate, so I’ve broken it all up and put it into 100g bags (around 50 of them) so they can have a small amount each time.

The chocolate bars i haven't broken up but i will let them choose either a bar or bag each day until its gone.

It is very over whelming though all this chocolate.

There was no reason for you to keep all that chocolate... There's food banks that would take it for you.

Crikey if my kids ate nothing but chocolate for a day they would be feral and probably murdering each other over minor infractions. I don’t let them have unfettered access to their eggs because they really need some proper food too. Not all kids are like that though! Sure some can eat nothing but sugar and remain sensible.

But I give them a bit of chocolate most days under normal circumstances so just use the Easter choc for that, and making hot chocolates and cakes and so on.

And how would i explain that to my sister who provided alot of it?

My sis would of asked the kids had they been eating it etc etc

Are your kids keeping a tally or something then?

FridayBluezzzz · 20/04/2022 19:35

DD once ate too many sweets and made herself ill. Since then she’s been very good at self regulating what she eats. So she had normal breakfast and a few tiny eggs etc.

one of her primary school friends, her mum used to put their cereal in half an egg. Honestly I think it’s gross.

And you explain it by saying. "thank you so much, but there's so much, we've decided to share it with others that might need a treat, so we've given some to the food bank"
