My son who is 17 has a whole stash of them. He smokes and now vapes. I'm an ex smoker and I tried one of those elf bars to what the fuss is about and can definitely see the appeal to youngsters. However the amount of teens who are now using them is really worrying a so do wonder about the long term effects as they are still fairly new.

I've just read a few minutes of research: YANBU, it is very concerning.

@Meltinthemiddle tell him off? Restrict privileges? Grounding?

As I type this... not going to work is it?

I've been through hell with my ds the last few years post lockdown. Grounding, stopping privileges does not work it just pushes them away and they rebell even more. If he wants to smoke or vape he will find a way. I don't like it and I tell him of the dangers but I cannot stop him leaving the house believe me I've tried. I'm not going to kick him out over it.

Both of mine vape and I don't like it but they're over 18 and it's better than smoking cigarettes, which is what I did from the age of 13 to 24.

Thankfully the vape industry is regulated in the UK but the US have had health issues. Despite this, I worry as it's the sticky wet vapour that I'm not sure about.

My eldest told me her screen heater wasn't working in her car so I took a look 🤦. It was fine but vaping with all the windows closed, resulted in a horrible sticky film all over the interior, which needed cleaning off with a damp cloth. It's the equivalent of yellowy tar from cigarettes so definitely not good.

Vaping’s chavvy as fuck

Yeah mine is y9 and she says it's the norm for vaping. She has asthma and is just aiming to breathe properly so thinks it's all crazy , thank god. It does seem a massive issue
