To consider letting in the ghost hunters?

On Monday there was a knock at the door and 2 blokes and a woman were stood there. They asked if I knew the history of my house and whether I had ever experienced paranormal activity. They introduced themselves first of course and showed me their YouTube channel, showed proof of ID etc etc and then asked if I’d be willing to let them do an overnight “investigation” in my house. I found the whole thing very funny but said I’d rather not, simply because I’m busy. They wanted to do it this weekend and have offered me £500 to do it.
I’m to let them know by 4pm today.
At first I was brushing the idea off completely but now I’m thinking it might be fun? It would take place over night Easter Sunday … I’d only be sat watching telly on my own otherwise.
I’ve watched their YouTube channel (which I’m not going to name as don’t want to be accused of promoting) and so know roughly what they’ll do.

AIBU to consider it?? My best friend thinks it will be interesting but then she believes in all that stuff.

(For what it’s worth, house is very very old and was “investigated” a couple of times before I bought it, I just didn’t know).

I did worry about my house being targeted afterwards but they said they never expose specific locations for residential places, they’ll just say it’s a house in Yorkshire. Even then though when they go through the history of it anyone semi local will be able to identify it

Yes, and then some local idiot will probably take to SM insisting they too have seen things around your (identified) house, and before you know it there'll be people contacting you for "sittings" and god knows what

@Yourgirlfriendrachel

I don’t believe in ghosts but I do believe in cash, so I’d let them do it!
Hahaha 🤣 this! Totally do it for 500 quid
TooBigForMyBoots · 16/04/2022 14:05

I'd throw in breakfast afterwards for £500.

Sylfia · 16/04/2022 14:14

@TheSpottedZebra

They don't give you much notice, do they, ghost hunters?
I mean you'd think they'd have all the time in the world ...
Aphantasia · 16/04/2022 14:30

How many views and subscribers do they have? I suspect they’d make a hell of a lot more than 500 back on the video if they’ve got good exposure on you tube! Ask for more!!

stripeyflowers · 16/04/2022 14:41

Have you looked at their other videos in people's houses? Do they ALWAYS find something in a person's house? £500 is a lot to just write off if house is not haunted. If they manufacture a haunting will it affect how you feel in your house?

KosherDill · 16/04/2022 14:43

I'd lock my good jewelry in my car and let them have at it!

RedHelenB · 16/04/2022 14:44

Let them and then tell us all the scams they pull.

MrsMoastyToasty · 16/04/2022 14:45

For £5000 I might, but not £500.

Celendine · 16/04/2022 14:56

I ask how much a burglary alarm costs...no way would I let strangers access my home. Your safety is worth more than money can buy.

FairyLightPups · 16/04/2022 15:06

Noooo I'd be too worried about disturbing the ghosts!

Libertybear80 · 16/04/2022 15:36

Is it a scam?

TheVolturi · 16/04/2022 15:40

You had me at £500!

MoveOnTheCards · 16/04/2022 16:34

So essentially a bunch of randoms want to spend the night mooching around your house/home?
