Things your boss does...

My boss is generally nice but very thoughtless. So my desk in the office is unfortunately placed next to the supply cupboard. It can't be moved due to power points. Every time anyone needs anything I have to move myself and my chair. Most people are very considerate/apologetic and will try to limit trips. My boss will think nothing of having me get up 5/6 times in ten minutes! No apology and he always leaves the cupboard door open after he's done leaving me to shut it. Really irritating.

Just wondered what annoying things your bosses do?

Lies and covers up the messes of one particular employee because they need to fill quotas and this employee does that.

Also afraid to fire this horrible employee in case they look racist.

Horrible employee will rat on everyone else for tiny minor things. If we bring a complaint about horrible employee, we are shushed or ignored.

Breathes.

She is not good at her job and makes my work life unnecessarily difficult. She went away for a two week holiday and the person standing in for her was amazing!

At least two formal complaints have been made about boss recently. I am hoping that her offhand comment about looking for better paid job wasn’t actually an offhand comment but statement of intent.

Fingers crossed!

Made the entire team in the open plan office change their desks and computer screens to face him so he could see what we were working on at all times.

We are professionals in a professional firm of a regulated industry.

Never reads emails that need him to do something and when you follow up by asking in person he asks you to resend the email and also print it off and leave it on his desk.

Terrified of making decisions and leaves it until it's too late for almost all of the options to be possible. Then blames that on other people and casts himself as the hero rescuing things at the last minute in difficult circumstances.

Always has or is just recovering from any illness that anyone else has, including hand, foot and mouth when a colleague's child was off nursery with it. When a colleague with bone cancer needed an op to stabilise her spine with various bits of metal, he said it reminded him of "that time I had that bad back, do you remember, I could hardly get out of bed".

I could go on. He's awful, lazy, narcissistic, always a victim, rewrites history constantly, squashes everyone in his team. Thankfully I only work with him occasionally now.
