Hi everyone

I was looking to book an anniversary trip for me and DH later this year, and came across some really good deals on wowcher, some of them seem too good to be true!

Is it actually what it says it is or am I missing some small print, like for example the hotel is hrs away form the airport?

The deals are legit, but I would HIGHLY recommend going on TripAdvisor and checking out the hotels, and reading the fine print.

You'll often find that the deals won't include certain things (meals, access to areas, parking etc) and/or that the hotels themselves are really shite. You'll also often find that you're put in the worst rooms in the place, because the hotel is only getting a fraction of the price.

There are some good deals on there, but it can be VERY hit and miss.

Wowcher itself is a long standing deal site not a seller itself say like eBay or Etsy. Check all the details, reviews, prices etc just like you would whatever platform you're buying something on.

Does it not give the hotel address so you can Google distance from airport?

I have ordered a couple of items through them and they’ve been fine, as advertised.

I’ve booked a hotel through Groupon, which is similar, and it was fine. Cheap and cheerful but it was just a dirt cheap place to stay for a theatre trip so I wasn’t expecting luxury. I’m not sure I’d use a discount site for a special anniversary trip though.

Some deals I came across are in really good hotels, 4-5 so it’s quite tempting really.

I always book everything directly flights, hotels etc.

I suppose I just need to do thorough research 😁

Sometimes when you ring to book they’ve blocked out dates you want. Same with something like Groupon. Just read the terms and conditions over and over.

Mummytobe93 · 14/04/2022 19:32

And yes, they give you the name of the hotels but I can’t find the name of an airport the flight is to - sometimes it can make a huge difference.

There is usually some catch, like the deal is only valid on a Thursday in December.

I tried to buy tickets to a show. I paid for them but it gave no info on how to actually book the tickets.
I contacted them by WhatsApp and waited 2 days for a response.
They said they had emailed the venue and to wait 3 days for a response.
After 3 days i hadn't heard anything and used WhatsApp again.
They said they would email the venue again, but I asked for a refund.

I won't use them again. Its worrying they have no process set up to actually use the offer.

Used wowcher for spa days many times, and they've always been brilliant. Also horse riding and various nice events. Always good value. I think they are often tasters in the hope you will continue with the event or activity.
