25,000 indecent images of children, incl many cat A. And "extreme" images of animals being sexually abused/tortured also. £300 towards costs and placed on a SHPO. And that's it! Not even banned from keeping animals.

Like many sex-offenders, he's changed his name by deed poll and started afresh in a new area.

I have some thoughts on this, (he was a prominent businessman in the area and knows the right people Wink) Our court system sees it fitting to send vulnerable women to prison for petty offences like soliciting or non-payment of household bills. Musn't kink-shame a man though because we must Be Kind.

There has been no mention of his victims that I can see.

"The comparison with other violent offences is interesting- plenty of people will watch violent assaults or even murder on the news but I suppose that is usually with condemnation rather than pleasure. People certainly watch mock rape or murder with pleasure."

Things you see on the news aren't created for the viewer. Those crimes aren't commited to be recorded and viewed and disseminated.

Paedophiles etc watching abuse DOES NOT prevent abuse. Abuse is happening to make the images and there isn't evidence this reduces crimes against children. Even if it did, that is basically saying there should be some children sacrificed to satisfy the needs of paedophiles to protect the others. Disgusting.

The 'he said she said' things fall down too. People consensually lend each other money and items all the time, but there is still the expectation that stealing, burglary and mugging are crimes that should be punished.

Children can't consent. The children in the images are real and the abuse is real and the damage is real. My opinion is making/viewing the images should be treated the same as committing the crime.

£300 Court costs!! Someone I know was sentenced for keeping wild birds (her partner not her, guilty as In home) has been ordered to pay £500! The mind boggles
