Friend, single, on specialist holiday as a return guest, place really run down, think leaking ceilings etc. she cannot work out how they are open as virtually no guests, few staff, nothing much on offer except the specialist activity that takes up about 2 hours or so per day. She has alerted her tour company, but is resigned to dipping into her own pocket to remediate.
Should she cut her losses & find somewhere else or persevere for the first week?
Should add that she is long-haul & on compulsory leave, so returning to work is not an option until 2nd May. She is kicking herself for being "cheap" and going back to a familiar place rather than going somewhere newer and more expensive.

I'd be chasing the tour rep / company keeping a paper trail sts and claiming when I returned home if the company hadn't resolved whilst away.

Yes I would keep chasing the tour rep and request alternative accommodation for the rest of her stay. She should phone them multiple times a day, until they respond.

I am told that the situation has been resolved to my friend's satisfaction, so that is good news.
I love the MN assumption that she must be on a package tour soemwhere and can just phone people at will - although she did speak to a specialist advisor on WhatsApp.
Still all sorted so she can relax and enjoy the rest of her stay.
