To feel giving email is/could be dodgy?

Long story (will try to make it) short. Moved to new area and made a new friend recently. They’re moving home and have asked if I can give them a business email address for them to process move “so they can make out they’re earning more than they are”. I’m slightly wary about this and not sure if I’m just being over cautious…I endured a pretty horrific experience with member of family and fraud plus started a new job recently and don’t want anything to be flagged up/get into trouble. How to navigate and say I just don’t feel comfortable with this? In general I do feel I do more favours than other way around with this friendship but not sure if I’m just overthinking here?

If it walls like a duck and quacks like a duck....

Tell them to pay to register their own domain and email address. Google is their friend. And there will then be no fraud. Yay.

As Barbara Bush used to say, “Just say No!”

Nancy Reagan!

Just say your work checks your business emails periodically so you're unable to do this.

They're using you, this is a new friendship and they're already trying to get you involved in dodgy things, that should be a very clear red flag.
Don't try and navigate it in a polite but vague way, just say no and move on, don't get caught in a back and forward as to why you won't with this user.

This person is using you. It doesn't matter how politely or not you say no. They have probably targeted you as you seem nice and reluctant to say no.

I suspect that this would be “gross misconduct” where I work.

They want the OP to pose as the CF’s employment reference and give them a false job title and salary to help them get a tenancy by fraud. Which will lose the OP her job if she does it.
