Nearly half of teachers plan to quit in the next 5 years

I saw this from a survey carried out by an education union.

Unmanageable workload is a significant factor.

This is madness how have the unions allowed the state of teachers employment to get this far where nearly half of them want out?!

They band together, submit ideas and research to government, tell the department of education what they teach for, what they are proud of and what a good education system might look like.

And no one listens. So they tell them again, still ignored. And again, and again, and again. Still ignored. And then they leave.

And for context my closet friend is a teacher she's now worked her way to a deputy . Her struggles to get to half term Or to a end of term holiday saying that she will have to work through her holiday then leaves it until the last few days and still gets it done . Working till 5;30/6pm 😂🤣🤣🤣 So yeah you all go leave these jobs that you think is so fucking hard then come and see how it is on the other side .... I dare you
Why don't you try and be a teacher if it's so great?

Don't know why you are calling me dumb. I do not have the psychic powers to know why you wouldn't want to teach. Am quite glad we won't be welcoming you now though. I am sure you'd be undesirable teacher type B.

No I'm just annoyed at your attitude towards work ... it's shit out there for most the world has changed it's getting harder out there for most industries.. but I will say the benefits teachers get out way most so maybe think before you act

What do you know about my attitude to work? What do I need to think about before I act? I work with families who have been struggling long before now, who are only going to see things getting worse, so please don't cast aspersions on my attitude or my work. I am well aware of the benefits that my choice of profession gives me - but it doesn't give them to me for nothing.

There's nothing there about discounts! You'll find exactly the same information with the details of other jobs in.

I've taken out several mortgages in my time and never been offered a 'teacher deal', and having accompanied my teacher daughter to appointments with mortgage advisors, I can tell you that she wasn't offered any teacher discount/deals mortgages either
