Not really an AIBU but I’m a bit worried and wanted to post here for traffic (that’s probably being a bit unreasonable so apologies!)

Well anyway, I had a boob reduction in early January. All went fine and I feel more or less back to normal now. However, under my left breast, exactly where the scar is, it feels really quite hard - almost like there is a rib that’s moved there. Under my right boob , it feels perfectly normal and quite soft as I expected.

Is it possible that the more solid bit could be scar tissue? It isn’t painful - it just feels weird compared to my other side. Coincidentally, when healing, this boob was definitely a bit more sore underneath than the right boob so not sure if that means anything. Any advice or shared experiences would be very much appreciated .

yes, one side of the under scarring turned into a keloid scar which was hard and very sore and itchy. Surgeon had me back, removed it and restitched. No problems since.

Thank you for replying so quickly. Much appreciated. So the keloid scar was raised under your skin?? (ie Not on top where you could see it). I’m wondering then if that’s what I’ve got.

sorry have been away from the laptop ( covid has struck!). The hardened scar was along the line of the stitching, much wider ( up to a centimetre) and shiny, red, angry. And so SO itchy. Not 'under' the skin as normal skin hadn't had a chance to grow on top of it if you see what I mean. It was a piece of scar roughly three inches long, under the left breast. My advice if you have to get it re done is to make sure you keep it very dry and to 'air' it as much as you can. I didnt wear bras for quite a while, relied on snug vest tops and camisoles. All the very best to you
