I pulled my house apart to do a spring clean. Then completely ran out of steam. So not only do I have Sunday night anxiety but it's in a self made hovel.

mdh2020 · 10/04/2022 21:03

When I was teaching I was a mess every Sunday evening. Eventually it spread to every evening and I finally admitted I need a change of career.

VyeBrator · 10/04/2022 21:04

This is why I'm glad I work Tues - Sat. It's weird but I don't get the 'Monday night dreads' at all, yet when I worked Mondays, Sunday nights used to make me feel a bit sick after about 6.30pm.

Mellowyellow222 · 10/04/2022 21:07

I stripped the bed - haven’t remade it yet so will procrastinate and go to bed late!

Me! And I’ve got about 43 years until retirement 😅

U2HasTheEdge · 10/04/2022 21:34

I have it. I had a week off and I feel really sad to be going back to work.

practicallyimpractical38 · 10/04/2022 21:36

Sitting here saying that I should go to bed but watching derry girls instead. I hate Sunday nights. Why does the weekend go so fast😪

Mellowyellow222 · 10/04/2022 21:46

I think because the schools are off I keep thinking I should be too!!

I am 42 - I don’t have kids - why do I still think in terms of school holidays😂😂

But emails will be lighter - I assume lots of people will be off spending time trying to keep their little monsters happy

I now have a (part time) job that I love, so no, I don't have the Sunday night dreads.

Want2beme · 10/04/2022 21:53

Not me, thankfully. My work is at home.

TinkysWinky · 10/04/2022 21:55

No Sunday night dreads here anymore thankfully although you have my sympathy - I changed career completely and I am much happier for it. Life is too short folks Flowers

Mellowyellow222 · 10/04/2022 21:57

@Want2beme my work is at home too - beemed in through zoom and teams and dozens of phone calls and hundreds of emails! And there is no escape

@RampantIvy I am jealous!! Sounds like bliss

LaNozzeDiFigaro · 10/04/2022 21:59

@TinkysWinky how long ago did you change careers? Was this into something you'd always wanted to do?

I've always had Sunday depression. Even when I liked my job tbh but the last few years I've been planning how I can give it up or work for myself and nothing has come to fruition.

FuzzySock · 10/04/2022 22:05

My work is also at home but the Sunday night anxiety is still there 😂

Positivelypatient · 10/04/2022 22:08

Yes I do although my colleague is off next week and work is quiet so an office to myself is good enough compensation.

bloodywhitecat · 10/04/2022 22:08

I gave up work to foster and before that worked in a 24/7 365 role so Sunday night dreads are a thing of the distant past for me but I did used to get the pre-nightshift dreads back in the day.

Oh no, Melloyellow222. My work's not like thatGrin

Wavygravy1 · 10/04/2022 22:10

I’ve got it for a different reason - I’m off work but DS has chicken pox 😫

TinkysWinky · 10/04/2022 22:11

@LaNozzeDiFigaro I changed last autumn. It was the opposite in fact, I changed from something I always wanted to do but turned out to be a complete misery (GP) to something completely unrelated where I just rolled the dice really (non medical managerial office role). In my new role 6 months now and it has completely changed my life. Lower pay but the positive effect on work life balance and my mental state has been astounding (not even the time spent at work, but the stress had seeped into every moment I was awake or asleep and I spent every bit of my free time researching alternative careers by the end). Wish I did this years ago. You only live once, if you are unhappy my advice would be to address that and move on. Good luck!

BrioNotBiro · 10/04/2022 22:12

I retire this week!! Smile. No more Sunday night. dreads!

UnnecessaryFennel · 10/04/2022 22:14

Yes, I do. Sick to the back teeth of my job but it pays reasonably well so I don't feel I can drop it. I am constantly plotting to leave and work for myself but I'd be a shit, lazy boss, so... Grin

LaNozzeDiFigaro · 10/04/2022 22:16

@TinkysWinky that doesn't sound like an easy step to have taken but sounds like it's worked out incredibly well. I hope it stays that way.

monarchoftheglen · 10/04/2022 22:19

Remember when Songs of Praise or Heartbeat was the biggest sign of Sunday dreads?

Mellowyellow222 · 10/04/2022 22:21

@BrioNotBiro

I retire this week!! Smile. No more Sunday night. dreads!
Congratulations party 🎈 🎉

Spring is the perfect time of year to retire. All that promise and bright nights.

What are your plans? I plan to visit san fransico, Montreal. Quebec and Alaska. Then I am getting a puppy.
