Good luck OP! I would like the confidence to do more things alone as I'm single and feel like fun things are passing me by. My friends have different interests or loved up partners to do things with and it's hard. My concern isn't what others will think but that standing there looking at things alone while other people are chatting with friends / family will make me feel lonely. The whole being around people is the loneliest place to be thing. If anyone felt like this but had a very different experience when it was happening then I would appreciate positive stories!

I go to quite a few concerts on my own - I still enjoy the music and frequently find someone to chat to. I also go out to eat on my own. I makes me feel pampered!

@ilovepuppies2019 I found having headphones on with a podcast is quite good when I'm feeling surrounded by people and on my own, wouldn't work at the theatre or football etc but does work in art galleries, museums etc or use those audio tour things.

I think it's probably why my nan always had the radio on, a bit of chatter in the background is like having other people with you.

I've been to concerts on my own

Yes! Have a lovely time OP

Just back from the event. It was good, got a bit emotional on the way in wondering if i was crazy to go on my own (had a cry on the car), I wish I could I have brought the kids but ex will have complaint so it was not worth asking, It will have caused too much hassle.

Yes definitely, you should go and enjoy yourself!

ReadyToMoveIt · 10/04/2022 21:07

I do this every Six Nations and Autumn Internationals time, except it’s 2.5 hours!

Oops Confused i just read the op and replied and now seen your reply. I'm glad you went and had a good time. We're all allowed a little cry, nothing wrong with showing emotions. Sorry to hear you would have liked to take your children but couldn't.

Totally. I’ve been alone to rugby in Australia, France & the uk. Mainly when I’ve been working, and managed to get a match in too. Never had any bother. Often get a chat with others. I’ve also gone to watch athletics alone, when in London for work. It’s all been fine
Glad you enjoyed it!

Ghostlyglow · 10/04/2022 21:11

Yes, I would love to. My partner always insists we do everything together and I never get to go anywhere on my own. It's the sort of thing I fantasise about being able to do.
