RATS Tests - say it correctly you dementers

Is it at all possible, when referring to Rapid Antigen Tests to stop calling them RATS Tests. They're not Rapid Antigen Tests Tests. FFS.

This is one of the strangest threads I’ve seen in my years on MN!
Was the op complaining about the way people duplicate the ‘test’ part of the phrase, as in it should be RAT, or RATs if multiple tests e.g. ‘We’re all doing RATs today’, rather than RAT/s tests?

If the post was deleted for the mention of dementors, why has the word been left in the title?

As someone with a fear of those things they should just call them Covid tests.

Hilariously, VODAFONE sell their top up vouchers with PIN NUMBER printed on them. This is one I got yesterday to top up my PAYG phone. I've doctored the PIN (number) as it's the one I used for my phone, but you can see clearly, it says PIN NUMBER!!

I don't know why, as it IS basically saying 'personal identification number number...' Maybe because soooo many people actually say PIN NUMBER, that most people don't know what PIN means.

Have no idea what Dementers/Dementors are and have never, ever heard anyone call a lateral flow test a rat test, or a rat come to that.

I always call them lateral flow tests.

As a kid I used to object to the term chocoholic arguing that if an alcoholic is addicted to alcohol then surely a chocolate addict should be called a chocic and someone who can’t stop working a workic etc.
