To ask if this was what happened near menopause?

Sister is 37. No kids.
Had covid last month and her period came a little earlier than usual. This month it's 30 days after the last one and still waiting.
Is this common for menopause or has anyone had something similar following an illness or coronavirus? She definitely is not pregnant.

I've had this after an infection. Makes sense to me that a body could put off ovulation one month if it thought it had an infection too?

Possibly. She's just worried as the first one came early and now this one not appearing at all despite having period symptoms. She's worried she is going through the menopause but surely a bit young and we don't have a history in the family of early menopause either.

No that did happen to me.

I think Covid can mess with the menstrual cycle. It’s very unlikely to be the menopause at 37

ZaraSizeMedium · 09/04/2022 19:10

My covid vaccines disrupted my menstrual cycle, so I can believe that actually having covid would too.

Aquamarine1029 · 09/04/2022 19:13

It could be peri-menopause, which can last 10 years or longer before full menopause. Period changes are very common. Mine started around her age.

I'm 41 and missed at least one period after covid, but cycle has since returned to normal

gamerchick · 09/04/2022 20:24

The body is clever. It'll put off ovulation if it can if something isn't right.

My periods are well wonky with the slide into menopause though but I'm 47.
