What is wrong with me?

I’ve had a lot of infections recently! They’ve all been bad enough to require antibiotics or antifungals- topical and oral. In any area of my body that could be infected, it’s got infected! Skin, urine, ears, teeth, etc and so on. Some infections have been bad enough to require several courses.

In total I’ve had over 15 antibiotic prescriptions over the last 12 months and several separate oral antifungals. Blood tests showed I was healthy. I’m not run down or tired or stressed or old… why do I keep getting infected? Is it just bad luck or could it be lifestyle related? Am I doing something to cause this?!

OP do you have a sweet tooth? I'm no expert but I've read excess sugar can feed infections? That could be a load of old tosh but either way I'd look at your diet and lifestyle, yes. Hope you feel better soon.

Did you have Covid before all of this started? My daughter went through this and it all started after she had covid for the first time. I think her immune system really took a hit and made her vulnerable to all sorts.

Diet wise I’m actually ok, I don’t eat too much sugar (at least I don’t think I do), I didn’t have covid either x

Try cutting out sugar altogether, op.
How old are you? Age can have a big impact on how you're able to absorb nutrients from food.
Try taking a good quality sublingual multi vitamin.

What are your vitamin D levels like? Get a postal test from Black Country NHS trust (available to anyone in the UK) for £30 if your GP won’t offer one. Take up to 4,000 iu per day (unless advised to take more by your doctor). 4,000 is the upper level advised by the NHS for general use outside of tailored medical recommendation. Also aim to get a GENTLE tan from noon sun over the summer... don’t burn, do it slowly & incrementally.

Also, cut out sugar, ultra processed food and alcohol, and shift a few pounds if you need to.
