Since this was asked www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4523796-What-age-did-your-looks-start-to-fade?watched=1&msgid=116444943#116444943

Let's share tips around staying young, inside and out, but mostly out.

I recently signed up to Dermatica prescription skincare to tackle aging, and I got prescribed medicated skin cream.

I love Aldi products for cheap dupes. I fork out for foundation and scrimp on other things.

I avoid foundation daily, only for special occasions (lasting longer, so not as expensive)

I take certain supplements including MSM and spirulina (keeps hair shiny) and a few others such as collagen.

I eat a diet that I am confident keeps my body healthy which improves looks (so that will be whatever diet you are confident does this for you)

I avoid stress - this is the biggest factor.

@samthebordercollie

Everyone is talking about face/hair. I think it's important to keep yourself fit and in shape too. Avoiding illnesses like osteoporosis is very important the older you get. I try and keep myself vaguely attractive even if I live in jeans, boots and jumpers most of the year - for my sense of worth, and because my DH might look elsewhere if I got fat and let myself go.
Well unless he is a great deal more attractive than thd average middle aged man, he might be looking for a lot longer than he thinks! I agree with you re diet and fitness being important, but for you, not to keep an old dog on the porch!

I stopped caring about appearance around 50. By then you are invisible to others anyway.That doesn't mean I don't like nice clothes or a good haircut but makeup or anything unatural, can't be bothered.
Health is way more important.

The phrase “Get a life” comes to mind…!
Honestly, it’s like reading something from a 1950s women’s magazine- “how to stay pretty to keep your man”! Did the feminist movement pass you by, OP?

In RL l dont know anyone who is obsessed about aging like on here . My friends, sisters etc we just laugh about it, say we' ll end up a goup of elderly eccentrics, so what ?
What bothers me more is that l am still fit and healthy enough to do all the things l love doing, my gardening, walking, visiting different places, having fun, etc, looking abit more older and wrinkly is the least of my worries.
