It’s not his fault really, as he’s conditioned like that due to his working pattern.

But we’re currently in an air bnb, last day. Due to leave at 10 and he’s been hoovering since 7:15 and is telling me I need to get up and get sorted!!

I packed last night, the house will be clean/tidy by the time we leave, but IABU to think we’re fucking holiday!!

I can’t remember the last time he got the hoover out at home!!…. I think he thinks it’ll take longer than it actually will!!

Ah yes, but he brought he brought me a cup of tea in bed, so I should be grateful! What he doesn’t (or maybe does) realise is that this cup of tea he brings me every morning is not a sign of affection… but a way of telling me it’s time to get up

What does he reply when you tell him this explicitly?

I was about to say yabu based on your title alone because I'm an early riser, genuinely can't help it. If I sleep late I still wake up stupidly early and just end up tired all day. But I either read very quietly in bed or sneak downstairs to have a coffee and walk the dog. I wouldn't be putting the hoover on or anything else to disturb the rest of the house!

If he wanted to do a bit of quiet cleaning, fine. But the hoover when you were asleep? I can't believe he told you to get out of bed to help.

He’s a prick mate x

oh god, OP. Go out for breakfast, and come back in time to hand the keys over. This kind of crap drives me insane.

@Teeturtle

He should hold off the vacuuming, but some people get up early. I can’t imagine lying in bed until 7:15am whether on holiday or not.
Really? God I struggle to wake up before 7am ever. You must all go to bed at 9pm or something

@stripeyflowers

This reminds me when I first got together with my DH. I often woke up earlier than actual getting up time. So I wake up at about 6 am and he said to me 'did you have a good sleep?' I remember thinking 'what! I'm nipping this one in the bud!' So I said 'I don't know, I haven't finished it yet.,' before turning over and going back to sleep! Grin
I think if more people nipped their partners' bad habits in the bud this early there'd be a lot less seething built up over years.

Performance cleaning has no effect on me - I hear a hoover and just think, sweet, I'll leave them to it then.

I'm a very early riser (never asleep after 7.30am at the very latest) but have never once used that early morning time to clean.

What a selfish, inconsiderate git.

My dh gets up early, but he realises everyone around him doesn't, so he puts his clothes in the bathroom the night before and slips out without disturbing me then does stuff quietly until I get up.
