CF? Would you park on the driveway of a house you were viewing to buy?

This happened to us today and DH & I can't quite workout if we were the CF or not lol.

Went to viewing, no where to park, 1 car already on 3 car drive.

We parked on drive and got out of car

Vendor opens door, asks why we have parked on drive.

Explained we had a viewing

Again she said why have you parked on drive, her son will be home shortly

I said if it's a problem, we will just leave; so we did!

Her EA was gobsmacked when I explained why we didn't do the viewing.

Who is BU?

@EthelTheAardvark

I bet that adds a tenner to your bills.

Bet lost, baby

But you wouldn't know, @TooOldToBeAGoth. No-one's going to tell you that they've just added £10 (or more) to their estimate because you were an arsehole about letting them park on your drive.

Bet won, baby.

Yes, exactly.

My friend always added extra if he was asked to use the back entrance. Unless you had a legitimate reason the bill went up

I would park on their drive and if I was selling I would be fine about sellers parking on my drive. First impressions are usually right, I wouldn't want to buy from them and have months of stress.

Just when I thought I had read the most ridiculous stuff on here, someone tops it.

Rude to park on someone's drive whose house you are viewing?? Too funny, Grin

RaRathebravemouse · 10/04/2022 06:24

It sounds like she was asking you not to park there as her son was on her way home and needed to park there so think it was OTT for you to leave.

I don't think I'd park on the drive of a house I was going to view unless it was really off the road if that makes sense.

@Whammyyammy lol this is so funny

I have never parked on anyone’s drive without asking first. It is polite to ask for various reasons such as to make sure other home owners are not due home etc.

I would not assume I could park on the drive if I was visiting or viewing a property.

Absolutely agree with this. Just good manners really, you don’t know their family parking arrangements.
