to find Neighbour's 3am Milk delivery annoying?

TBH I do actually think I am being unreasonable 😂 but basically just want to rant about being woken up at 3am because of just 2 neighbours on our street (out of 50) who get milk delivered.
Especially as where we live there are 2 well
Known supermarkets within a minutes walk AND a 24 hour shop.

Great thread Smile

In the winter, the float is abandoned for a car, which I spent months thinking was a nightly drug drop.

This made me lol 😆

Our milkman delivers at around 7.30pm at night. No glass bottles it's from one of the big milk companies and it's in a normal milk carton. No milk float either it's a Van. I find it great as we drink tons of milk and no having to pop into a shop and then buy another ten unnecessary items which always happens with me.

Perhaps these early morning deliveries would be quieter if they used plastic bottles? Grin

@shostaklovhich ... if they 'oiled their brakes' you would probably get the sound of the milk float crashing into a parked cars!

We use loads of milk which is why I simply can not afford to pay for a milk delivery. My 16pints a week are £4.45 from Tesco and if I got glass bottles it would be £15.84, a huge amount extra to pay for an 0400 wake up call. I can’t afford to drop an extra £40 a month on milk. I could get plastic which is slightly cheaper but then it seems pointless.

@sweeneytoddsrazor

I think the correct way to deal with unwanted milkmen is to throw stale pork pie crusts and rock cakes at them..
Only if you’re from teddington and having an affair 😂

I hear you ! it’s a pain my neighbours have it delivered at a similar time and it wakes me every time 🤬

Very good point Smile

YANBU because I get annoyed when the bin men come at 7am on my day off and wake me up with their reversing truck and smashing of wheelie bins! Now I do know that I am totally unreasonable! But 3am is a different kettle of fish.

Do glass bottles really get recycled? I know that where I live in the US, people assume that glass bottles get recycled, but in reality, they do not. In fact, they are very heavy and they go straight into the landfill.

We're your neighbour too I'm afraid. We get milk, eggs and cheese from local dairy. We're one of a few families on our little street to get deliveries. Even I find it annoying. To top it off we also get a newspaper delivery daily and 2 times a week some form of rubbish is collected (we have three bins, 1 gets collected weekly the other 2 alternate). We sleep with our windows open, so every day we're awoken by something or other.

Oh haha!! Well whatever they can do to make their brakes less screechy.
