Holiday stress

Is anyone else going abroad soon and having a constant panic about covid ruining it? Am I just driving myself bonkers for no reason? No testing required where we’re going but obviously if someone is clearly unwell it’s an issue!

I know there are bigger world problems but we’re so looking forward to this holiday! 😓

@ChoiceMummy for many of us this is a holiday booked 3 years ago that we have just had to move on and on and no longer can as we loose all the money

Phos · 04/04/2022 08:46

The place we're going doesn't require testing if you're fully vaxxed or under 12 and as far as I know, you don't need to test to come back to the UK either. I'm sure quite a few countries are going that way - book one of those!

I understand that, but you're still actively choosing to go. So really accepting the stress and getting on board with the fact your holiday will undoubtedly be more stressful.

For me, I'd have reviewed whether the stress was worth the financial loss...

bringbackthesun1 · 04/04/2022 13:21

@Phos we are going to one of those places but still can’t go if someone’s clearly Ill!
It’s made me feel better how many people are feeling the same though. A problem shared and all that! Thank you fir replying everyone and for those in the same situation I really hope you all have healthy, stress free holidays!

we are off to greece at easter and i'm convinced that having dodged covid for the past 2 years that we will catch it next week just before our holiday! we are going with extended family so not something we can rearrange.
I am now also worrying about the fact that Easy jet cancelled a tonne of flights this weekend due to staff issues so now think out flight will also get cancelled!!

bringbackthesun1 · 04/04/2022 16:21

@BrieAndChilli 🥺😭 I had missed this news today. Another thing to worry about. As someone said above, this fretting does not seem worth it to get away. I’m actually making myself feel quite Ill with it all.

I am worrying OP. We need a negative test to fly to our holiday next week and I am so stressed about it

Yes we won't lose money but its a 2 week holiday that I've been really looking forward to, and I won't be able to take another 2 weeks off for another year. Covid rates are something like 1in 13 and feels like a miracle that we will all be covid free

Combined with Ba flights cancellation, airport madness. It feels really stressful

PurplePinecone · 06/04/2022 15:18

Yes it is! Shortly after posting I convinced my husband that there is no point hoping. So have cancelled and rebooked Mexico! Sad about Japan but Mexico will be good Smile

PurplePinecone · 06/04/2022 15:19

That reply was to @HTH1

Sorry, it didn't quote!

PurplePinecone · 06/04/2022 15:21

It is Japan*
