Not a troll genuinely in need of inspiration.

I was reasonably attractive ish once when I lost weight and kept it off, took care of self, dressed nicely did nail tan etc that lasted maybe 3 years in my late 20s.
Now I'm massively over weight so definitely want to tackle that ASAP I want to feel actually good, attractive and myself. My style is safe never been trendy or cool by any stretch of the imagination.
It doesn't reflect who I am.

I know this is isn't a major issue and there are much more pressing issues on mumsnet today but any stories of reinventing your look later in life would be really appreciated

I need to do the same, 43 really fat and just feel horrible. also lacking energy and motivation for much at all. Have a lovely wardrobe lots of nice makeup etc but don’t feel I can wear it due to my Weight:self esteem. So I need to do something too. I have no thyroid which doesn’t help at times as I get v tired,
Anyway enough about the excuses I think if we all make an effort and stay motivated and help each other it’ll make a big difference (I hope so anyway)

Thank you all really appreciate the comments and suggestions-it would be brilliant to have some company on this journey and help each other. Sounds like some of you have done brilliant so far hopefully I can do the same
The streaming keep for on demand would be a great option will look into that.
Tanning recommendations I would say the tanning drops from superdrug best one it's fantastic

I did this at 39, lost over 20kg, changed my hair colour, had Botox and microblading. Used gradual tanner and had my nails done. I've since had cancer and lost my way a little bit but am on a mission to lose the 7kg that's crept back on and get back to feeling fab.

Did a home workout today and trying to start eating a bit better. I've got a couple of events last week April so would be good to get a few lbs off before then

Of course it is! You're only 39. Lose the excess weight and exercise regularly and you'll feel 20 years younger to start with.
