To be worried this is breast cancer?

Small red rash about the size of a 50p which is boiling hot and extremely painful as there is a hard lump underneath the rash -
Surely this is inflammatory breast cancer?
I rang the doctors yesterday to be told to ring back Monday for an appt as they had none left even though I am crying in agony.
Not breast feeding and haven’t done for years so it can’t be an infection surely.

This waiting is the worst thing. But you are doing it.

Hope everything works out, the redness going is a good sign Smile

Don't pop vallies as pain relief ✌️

I’ve just come across this thread and would like to add my experience, and ask if it’s normal?

I had an almost identical issue (possible infection but automatically worried it was IBC) on the 2nd January. I was prescribed AB’s over the phone on 4th January which seemed to clear the problem. I had a follow up face to face appointment with my GP a week later, where she recommended I was referred to the Breast Clinic. Appointment for Breast Clinic finally came on 1st March. I assumed by then that all was ok but after mammogram and ultrasound they decided biopsies were required. I was told I’d have the results of biopsies within 7 days. This was not the case. I was called back for further biopsies 9 days after the 1st set and I haven’t heard anything since. It will be 5 agonizing weeks on Thursday. Is this wait usual for biopsy results?

Just to add - people tell me that ‘no news is good news’ but this doesn’t sit right with me, I want to know either way. I have phoned the hospital around 30 times but have only managed to speak to someone once. I have emailed patient services and phoned my GP, no one has been able to offer an update. All blame Covid for the delays.

5 weeks is such a long time to wait for results. They usually take 2 weeks to come back and I know some patients who have had a biopsy and the results have come back cancerous back in clinic within a week. Chase up the breast clinic and make a nuisance off yourself. You need to know
